In a new Super Bowl commercial, Jennifer Aniston is reunited with David Schwimmer… but has no memory of working with him for 10
seasons on the NBC juggernaut.
Aniston’s bout of amnesia is explained earlier in the Uber Eats ad — a star-studded marketing campaign showcasing that “you can get almost, almost anything, delivered with Uber Eats,” according to the official press release. “But in order for folks to remember that, they have to forget something else” — and in Aniston’s case, she’s forgotten all about her longtime co-star.
Other celebs featured in the commercial include David and Victoria Beckham (who struggle to remember that Victoria was in the Spice Girls), Jelly Roll (who tries to scrub away his facial tattoos before realizing they’re permanent) and Super Bowl LVIII Halftime Show performer Usher.
Aniston and Schwimmer’s Uber Eats gig comes three years after the Friends cast gathered for a 2021 HBO Max reunion special. During the event, the former on-screen couple revealed that their chemistry extended off screen.
“We were both crushing hard on each other, but it was like two ships passing,” Schwimmer explained at the time. “One of us was always in a relationship, and we never crossed that boundary.”
Piggybacking off of Schwimmer’s explanation, Aniston recalled an early exchange with her on-screen love interest. “‘It’s going to be such a bummer if the first time you and I actually kiss is… on national television,’” she said — and sure enough, it was. “We just channeled all of our adoration and love for each other into Ross and Rachel.”
Their Uber Eats commercial is set to air during CBS’ telecast of Super Bowl LVIII between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers (Sunday at 6:30/5:30c) — but you can watch the ad early, via the video player above
