Jennifer Aniston Tears Up While Remembering Her Final Conversation With Matthew Perry

Less than two months after Matthew Perry‘s untimely death, his Friends co-star, Jennifer Aniston, opened up about her final

conversation with him.

Aniston recently sat down with Variety for her first interview since losing Perry, who died on Oct. 28 at 54. In doing so, the actress said she hopes fans remember him “as he said he’d love to be remembered”: for helping others.

During the interview, Aniston also spoke about how Perry seemed to be doing in the weeks and days leading up to his death.

“He was happy. He was healthy. He had quit smoking. He was getting in shape,” she told the publication while tearing up. “He was happy—that’s all I know.”

An emotional Aniston continued: “I was literally texting with him that morning, funny Matty. He was not in pain. He wasn’t struggling. He was happy.”
